WHO ARE WE?
We are volunteers dedicated to this fight to justice. A part of justice is to hold the city of Minneapolis accountable for these neighborhoods connected to George Floyd square. Steady strategizing and mobilizing with the community. We outreach and connect with the community in smaller settings while also holding huge community meetings, emails and long phone calls with community and council.\
WHO ARE WE?
Initiated in April 2024, the Community Visioning Council (CVC) is an evolution of the Community Co-Creation Team (CCT) made up of residents, businesses and organizations who live and work in the Central, Bancroft, Bryant and Powderhorn Park neighborhoods - the four neighborhoods that meet at the intersection of 38th and Chicago in south Minneapolis where George Perry Floyd Jr. was murdered by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin on May 25, 2020
What do we do?
The CVC centers the voices, needs and concerns of the combined community found at George Floyd Square. We’re here to invest our time and energy into community members to build power, reassurance and the opportunity for healing after the trauma of 2020.
